Is Trump negotiating peace between Russia and Ukraine?

X · 1,279 likes, 866 replies (syndication); covered by Mediaite, Daily Beast, MEAWW and Newsweek on 18-19 Oct

True But

The screenshot reproduces a Truth Social post by Donald J. Trump on Oct 18, 2026 and is corroborated by multiple reputable news outlets. The post accurately quotes Trump's words, but several factual claims inside the post (for example, the extent of 'hostage negotiations' and specific allegations about targeting diesel refineries) are not independently verified in public reporting.

What happened to Dwayne Johnson's shoulders?

X · 4,538 likes, 328 replies (syndication); The Spun says 4.1M views; TotalProSports says over 5M (4.8M); a Community Note reportedly calls it 100% AI-edited

True But

The photo is an authentic press image (CinemaCon, April 11, 2024). Reporting and later festival photos show Johnson did slim down for film roles in 2025, so the post’s alarmist tone exaggerates a documented but non‑medical change in his build — partly true but presented out of context.

Did Barack Obama accuse the Trump administration of targeting Ilhan Omar?

X · 95,514 likes, 43,013 replies (syndication); Community Notes attached, according to The Post Millennial

True But

The post is an authentic public statement by Barack Obama criticizing the Trump administration's actions toward Rep. Ilhan Omar; reporting confirms federal agents searched Omar's home and seized devices in October 2026, but whether those actions constitute intentional "selective targeting" for political beliefs is an interpretive judgment and remains contested.

Did Donald Trump say France is burning due to immigration?

X · Repost has 9,779 likes and 444 replies (syndication); covered by JDD, GB News, JPost, LBC, WP.pl, Onet, LatestLY, i24

Misleading

The video reproduces a Truth Social post by Donald J. Trump on October 18, 2026 saying 'France is burning' and urging border closures. The post and the protests it references are confirmed by multiple major news outlets; however, Trump's causal claim blaming immigration for the unrest is unsubstantiated and misleading.

Did Kim Jong-un die and did China send troops to Pyongyang?

X · 3,686 likes, 204 replies (syndication); MEAWW fact-check 19 Oct 02:02Z; parody account @RealPresidentT also riffing on it (200 likes)

Can't Verify

No credible evidence was found to confirm that Kim Jong-un has died or that China dispatched 9,000 troops to Pyongyang; outcome-focused searches of major international and regional outlets returned only background coverage and succession speculation, not confirmation of these claims.

Did Chelsea Clinton have her wedding in the White House Rose Garden?

X · 10,397 likes, 1,165 replies (syndication); MEAWW says 'hundreds of thousands of views'

False

The image is a manipulated meme built on a real photo, but the principal assertions are false: Chelsea Clinton did not have a White House Rose Garden wedding in 2014 (her wedding was July 31, 2010, at Astor Courts in Rhinebeck, NY), and there is no credible evidence or court order requiring her to repay $1.7 million in taxpayer funds; the viral item traces to satire and has been debunked.

Did the Guardia Civil open the gate at the Tarajal border in Ceuta?

X · 2,671 likes (syndication); @QFueso post on the same footage has 170 likes; Telecinco aired 'unseen images' 16 Oct; El Español and El Faro de Ceuta also covered the gate opening

True But

The video is authentic footage of the 30 July 2026 mass entry at Ceuta showing police and Guardia Civil at the Tarajal gate; reputable Spanish outlets confirm the gate was opened amid an avalanche to avoid a crush. Attribution that the opening was specifically ordered by Interior Minister Fernando Grande‑Marlaska is reported by some sources but not conclusively documented in public official evidence, so the post mixes confirmed facts with a partly unverified attribution.

Did a video show panic-buying in Saudi Arabia due to war-related shortages?

X · @MADIBA1150270: 2,969 likes, 250 replies; Arabic versions @rashiduae31 205 likes/134 replies, @SwtLamy 122 likes (hashtag #الشعب_السعودي_ينهار); Misbar fact-check (Arabic + English) 18 Oct

False

The video is authentic footage from the documented opening of a supermarket in Mecca in late August 2025; it does not show current, war-driven panic-buying or shortages in Saudi Arabia. The post's caption misrepresents the clip and is misleading.

Did Ukraine apologize for a drone incident in Lithuanian airspace?

X · Tykhyi post 1,361 likes; Nauseda post ('Russia's war... spilling over', 704 likes, 213 replies); KI, UP and Reuters coverage; separate Polish search for an object near Lublin (Trends UA 'польша')

True But

The post is an authentic-seeming official statement from Ukraine's Foreign Ministry expressing regret and apologising after a suspected drone entered Lithuanian airspace on 18 Oct 2026; multiple reputable outlets corroborate the incident and that Ukraine characterised Russian electronic warfare as a possible cause, but the claimed diversion by Russian EW remains an assessment rather than independently confirmed fact.

What did Lula say about 73% of prisoners voting for him?

X · Primary 1,482 likes. The same debate clip from @comentaristaedu (text only 'KKKK...') has 130,227 likes and is embedded in VTV News's article on this exchange. Covered by Poder360, A Crítica, Rede 98, BNews

True But

The video is authentic broadcast footage from the Band debate on October 18, 2026 showing Flávio Bolsonaro asking about a '73%' figure and Lula replying he wants 100% of those votes 'even your father.' The numeric claim refers to vote shares recorded in prison voting sections (about 72.6–73% for Lula) per TSE-based tabulations, but the phrase '73% dos presidiários' is imprecise because it omits that not all incarcerated people are eligible or represented in those sections.

Did Marco Rubio say Kyiv received no early warning before missile strikes?

X · 536 likes and 91 replies (X syndication, 19 Oct). The 'Марко Рубіо' query is at 10,000+ on Google Trends UA (19 Oct, linked to the no-warning story). 24tv says Rubio cited a software glitch, denied that intel sharing stopped and questioned Zelensky's claims.

True

The video clip and tweet accurately show Marco Rubio saying he could not confirm reports that Kyiv received no early warning before overnight ballistic missile strikes and that he did not have enough information; Ukrainian officials also reported the lack of a warning before the first strike and this reporting is corroborated by contemporary news coverage.

Did activists unfurl Palestinian flags on the Eiffel Tower recently?

X · 2,758 likes, 363 replies on primary (X syndication, 19 Oct); Indian copies @PoornimaNimo 752 likes, @PoddarVaishali 379 likes; AI image version on FB page Proud2beBritish (Full Fact 19 Oct)

False

The viral clip is AI-generated and is being presented as a real, recent protest on the Eiffel Tower; that claim is false. There was a legitimate XR France action on 15 May 2026 that involved a Palestinian flag, but the newly-circulated video is not authentic evidence of a new event.

What did Pete Hegseth say about Afghanistan?

X · 2,550 likes, 1,132 replies on the clip (X syndication, checked 19 Oct). Sikorski's quote-post of this exact clip (@sikorskiradek 2111776371634569375) has 17,594 likes. The clip led to a No 10 rebuke on 19 Oct and pushback from the Czech FM. Covered by Guardian, Mirror, HuffPost UK, LBC, Politico.eu,

Misleading

The video is authentic and shows Pete Hegseth speaking at the University of Tennessee on October 17, 2026 and making the quoted remarks. He did say the lines about '50 flags' and the ISAF joke, but his claim that only 'one or two' allied countries were involved in kinetic operations is misleading and contradicted by the record of allied combat participation and casualties.

Did a couple get robbed and stripped during the 17 October protests?

X · 157,275 likes and 7,237 replies (X syndication, 19 Oct). Far-right activist Alice Cordier reposted the photo in English (804 likes). FB video 'un couple de 80 ans a été dépouillé...' seen in Newtral raw HTML. Fact-checked on 19 Oct by Mimikama, 20 Minutes, Newtral and Knack, and by Libération on 18

False

The image circulating on X claiming to show an elderly couple stripped and robbed during the 17 October protests is AI-generated or manipulated; it has been presented as authentic but independent fact-checkers and media found AI traces and no authoritative photographic or official corroboration that the pictured people are real victims from that date.

Did Harmeet Dhillon Set Fake News Straight on 60 Minutes?

X · 18,946 likes, 1,146 replies (X syndication, 19 Oct); companion @AAGDhillon clip 10,160 likes; Fox News 'accuses show of editing out her answers' 19 Oct

True But

The video is authentic 60 Minutes footage (aired Oct 18, 2026) of Harmeet Dhillon's interview. She did appear and make the quoted statements; factual elements (e.g., noncitizens may not vote in federal elections; DHS/administration publicly said it has no plan to station ICE at polling places) are supported by reporting, while broader claims about widespread or outcome‑changing irregularities are only partly supported and can be misleading without context. The tweet's editorial complaint about '95% of the answers' being edited out is subjective and unproven.

Can't Verify

Elon Musk posted on X on Oct. 19, 2026 that he "will give one of [his] SpaceX shares to every kid in America" next year; multiple major news outlets reported and quoted the post. The statement is a pledge of future action and cannot be confirmed as completed now.

Did the October 2026 student protests in France have no French flags?

X · 150,334 likes and 3,511 replies (X syndication, 19 Oct). Maldita (19 Oct), Mimikama (19 Oct) and Newtral (18 Oct) all say the footage is from a Gaza rally at Place de la République on 25 May 2025.

Misleading

The video is real footage from a pro‑Palestine rally in Paris on May 25, 2025 (Place de la République). The post misrepresents it as showing the October 2026 student protests and uses it to claim there were 'no French flags' and only 'Islamic' flags — a misleading, out‑of‑context claim.

PoliticsView details→

Did student protesters burn down the Eiffel Tower?

X · 2,222 likes, 376 replies (X syndication, 19 Oct); Community Note says the footage is CGI (per MEAWW)

False

The video is a digitally created/CGI visual-effects clip that has been circulated as if real; reputable fact-checkers and reverse-clip searches show the footage originated earlier as VFX and there is no evidence the Eiffel Tower burned. The caption's claim is false.

What did Elissa Slotkin say at the University of Chicago?

X · 12,127 likes, 5,335 replies (X syndication, 19 Oct); quote-post by @MichaelBicksel 4,807 likes; NY Post 18 Oct, Fox News opinion (Mike Davis) 19 Oct, Twitchy 19 Oct keep it going

True

The video clip is authentic and records Senator Elissa Slotkin speaking at a University of Chicago event on October 13, 2026; she explicitly said she wanted high-profile 'signature' cases against Trump's enablers to send a 'deterrence message' so young people would think twice about taking jobs in the Trump administration. Multiple outlets and the university event listing corroborate the quote.

What does the video of the French protests show?

X · 195,642 likes, 2,386 replies (X syndication, 19 Oct)

True But

The video appears to be authentic footage from the recent French student protests; French outlets (BFMTV, Le Parisien) reported a related incident on Oct 1, 2026 in Marseille where a person used an aerosol-and-lighter improvised flamethrower against a woman and a 15-year-old was later detained.
