Did archaeologists find Noah's Ark in Turkey?

X · Al Jazeera says the clips got 40M+ views; the TikTok creator 'themaniac' alone has 25M+. Celal Ciftci post: 2,982 likes and 639 replies (syndication, 13 Oct). Copy-paste English versions on X ('VERY IMPORTANT Turkey...').

False

The post's claim that archaeologists in Turkey 'found Noah's Ark' is false. The short excavation-style video used to support the claim has been identified by verification tools and fact-checkers as fabricated / AI-generated, and the actual scientific work at the Durupınar site remains under analysis without any authenticated discovery.

Are lab-grown eggs federally approved?

Facebook · Facebook reels circulating in October (also August); copycat articles say the eggs are "quietly hitting Walmart and Target shelves" · resurfaced

True But

Precision‑fermented egg proteins (e.g., EVERY's OvoPro) do exist and were the subject of an FDA GRAS notification closed with 'no questions' on Oct 17, 2023; industry reporting from mid‑2026 says products containing those ingredients are in retail channels including Walmart and Target. The post is partly correct that such 'lab‑made' egg proteins are in U.S. products, but it misleadingly describes FDA action as an outright federal 'approval' of 'lab‑grown eggs' and uses sensational, imprecise language about production and labeling.

Is there a plague outbreak in Siberia following a laboratory accident?

X · Story still growing: Google Trends NL 'de pest rusland' 1000+, top IE trend; Trump commented 5 Oct, Rubio pressed Russia 6 Oct; Euronews, Newsweek, Daily Beast, Fox, CBC follow-ups 6 Oct

Misleading

Misleading — multiple reputable outlets report a death of a laboratory worker in Irkutsk and quarantines of contacts, but there is no confirmed plague outbreak or verified lab accident; official Russian statements and investigative reporting contradict the claim that a plague outbreak resulted from a high-security lab accident.

Did Trump express concern about a pneumonia plague outbreak in Russia?

X · ~8.9K likes / ~1.2K replies (syndication, 2026-10-06); wide pickup (HuffPost, The Hill, Axios, Salon, Fox, Forbes, Al Jazeera); Kimmel monologue joke

True

The video is authentic footage of President Trump speaking to reporters on Oct 5, 2026; he did use the words quoted in the post. Multiple reputable outlets and a press-gaggle transcript corroborate the remarks. His scientific characterization of microbes as 'stronger and smarter' and the suggestion that treatments 'don't work as well anymore' is an overgeneralization and misleading in the specific context of pneumonic plague, which remains treatable with antibiotics when diagnosed and treated promptly (CDC).

Did Adam Kinzinger claim Russia is working on antibiotic-resistant plague research?

X · 21,633 likes / 690 replies per x-syndication at check 2026-10-06; quoted by Mediaite; plague story widely covered (Euronews, Time, NBC, CBS, Al Jazeera, Kyiv Independent, Moscow Times); Trump asked about it at White House 2026-10-05

Can't Verify

The quoted X post by Adam Kinzinger is authentic and was publicly quoted by multiple outlets on Oct 5, 2026. His policy calls are opinion; his historical claim that Soviet/Russian programs once worked on plague strains with antibiotic resistance is supported by historical and academic sources but is a simplified summary of complex and sometimes contested evidence.

Was there a pneumonic plague released from a laboratory in Russia?

X · 16,734 likes / 663 replies on X; Google Trends 'peste russie' FR 2000+, UA/NL also trending; covered by CNews, Euronews, Al Jazeera, Moscow Times, UK press

Misleading

The post mixes a real developing story (reports of a sick laboratory worker in Russia and limited quarantines) with exaggerations and unverified claims. There is no credible evidence that pneumonic plague was released from a laboratory, no support for the 2,000+ quarantine figure, and the '100 times more lethal' comparison is context-free and misleading.

Did five hospitals close due to a plague outbreak in Siberia?

X · Google Trends RSS ES 'rusia peste neumónica' 2000+ and FR 'russie peste' 2000+; Bluesky trending 'Plague death reported in Siberia'; also trending in TR; Euronews, Newsweek, Al Jazeera pickup

True But

There is independent, credible reporting that a laboratory technician linked to the Irkutsk Anti-Plague Institute died and that regional authorities placed hospital wards and roughly 189–197 contacts under observation. However, authorities have not publicly confirmed that Yersinia pestis (plague) caused the death or that a broken test tube containing live plague bacteria was definitively the source.

Is the whale next to the fishing boat in the video real?

X · Multiple viral posts on TikTok, X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube from late September

False

The short video was created with generative tools and is being presented as a real whale-boat encounter; fact-checking finds no credible on-scene corroboration and classifies the clip among a recent wave of AI-generated whale videos. The caption's implication that this is authentic footage is false.

True But

The screenshot shows a real X (Twitter) post that was published on June 11, 2022 reading '2023: Corona ended / 2026: Hantavirus.' Fact-checkers and archived captures confirm the post and its date; the caption's statement that the account was created in June 2020 is incorrect or unsupported and therefore misleading.
